Batch OE6 Tech Sheet
Another day, another shipping crisis. Batch OE6 – more Espadin goodness from Onofre – came to the UK on a shipment which left Oaxaca in February, containing 9 pallets of Espadín and 1 pallet of Ensamble. Unfortunately, there was a small typo in the exporters address printed on the Ensamble labels. The address was still clearly legible, and specified the correct physical address in Mexico. But Mexican customs, in their wisdom and gererosity, decided that these bottles couldn’t possibly leave the country in this state. La computadora dice que no. The offending pallet had to be removed from the container – a slow and expensive process – and put into storage to await its fate. Unbelievably, 9 months later, its still stuck in the port, despite two dismissed legal proceedings against my supplier, and full corrective re-labelling of the bottles. If the pallet is ever released, the port storage fees are likely to be a multiple of its value. The joys of working in Mexico.
Thankfully, we’ve plenty of delicious Espadin to drown our sorrows, in the form of Onofre’s latest work – OE6. It’s another instant classic, full of juicy agave, earthy ancho chili, and wafts of warm campfire smoke. Add it to your cart and get it in your negroni ASAP.
